Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special
The Street Glide® and the Road Glide are considered by many motorcycle enthusiasts to be the greatest tourers ever designed, and they continue to be the best-selling Harley-Davidson® bikes. The main difference between these motorcycles is the fairing. The Street Glide® has a fork-mounted fairing, which is known as the batwing, whereas the Road Glide has a frame-mounted fairing, which is known as the shark nose. According to overall sales numbers, the Street Glide® design is the most popular.
Design Options
For the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special, you have the choice between either a classic chrome finish or a more modern blacked-out aesthetic. Vivid Black is the standard color option included in the MSRP in both cases. A two-tone color scheme—Bright Billiard Blue with Billiard Gray—is available with either finish. With the chrome finish, you also have the option of either Baja Orange or Gray Haze. There is a two-tone color scheme exclusive to the black finish—Industrial Yellow with Vivid Black—and you also have the option of Atlas Silver Metallic, Heirloom Red Fade and Prospect Gold. Outside of Vivid Black, all of these color options are new, and all of the options from last year, including the special Apex paint, have been retired.
Ride Characteristics
The Street Glide® Special is a full dresser. The most notable ride characteristic that differentiates it is the aforementioned batwing fairing. Other characteristics include upright rider positioning, a passenger seat, floorboards and saddlebags. The Boom!™ Box GTS infotainment system is standard. Anti-lock braking and electronic linked braking are standard as well. Other rider safety enhancements are optional.
