2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special vs Street Glide® Special

2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special vs Street Glide® Special

The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special and 2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special are now available at Tampa Bay Harley-Davidson®, and they upgrade the core Street Glide® and Road Glide® experiences with a more powerful engine, premium wheels and the bar-and-shield tank emblem. Which is best for you largely comes down to which fairing design you prefer.

What’s New for 2023

Not much is changed with either the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special or 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special. New color options are available, but these models are really popular and in a good place in terms of performance and technologies, so there really isn’t much need for major changes.

Ride Characteristics

The big difference to consider when comparing the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special vs 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special is the fairing design. The Street Glide® has the fork-attached fairing, which is known as the batwing, and the Road Glide® has the frame-attached fairing, which is known as the shark nose. Otherwise, these models deliver similar touring experiences with a windscreen, a passenger seat, floorboards and stretched saddlebags but no Tour-Pak.

Performance

The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® Special and 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® Special are powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine, and this is a notable difference between them and the standard models, which are powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 engine. The extra oomph is nice to have when merging onto a highway, for instance, or taking a fun ride through the local twisties.

Infotainment

The Special models have the Boom!™ Box infotainment system along with the 6.5-inch touch screen. This larger screen is optional with the standard models and also provides a more robust infotainment feature set. You also get a stereo system with to 5.25-inch speakers.

Technologies

The anti-lock braking system and electronic linked braking are included standard. Tampa Bay Harley-Davidson® also gives you the option of RDRS. It adds vehicle hold control, tire pressure monitoring, cornering enhanced ABS, cornering enhanced ELB, cornering enhanced traction control and cornering enhanced drag-torque slip control.

Customization

The same design options are offered for both models. A chrome finish is included in the MSRP, and a black finish is available for an additional fee. Vivid Black is the standard color in either case. There are also premium colors. For the chrome finish, premium paint schemes include Bright Billiard Blue with Billiard Gray, Gray Haze and Baja Orange. For the black finish, your options are Bright Billiard Blue with Billiard Gray, Industrial Yellow with Vivid Black, Atlas Silver Metallic and Prospect Gold. You also have the option of Red Heirloom Fade with the black finish as part of the 120th Anniversary celebration.

Special Editions

The Road Glide® and Street Glide® are both available in a number of variants. The Road Glide® Limited is a full dresser, and you also have the option of the CVO Road Glide® and CVO Road Glide® Limited. A CVO Street Glide® is available, and both bikes are offered in sportier ST configurations.
