About the Tri Glide®
The Tri Glide® Ultra is a trike, which means that it has two rear wheels, which provides greater stability, balance and handling compared to a traditional motorcycle. The other main trike in the H-D® lineup is the Freewheeler. An analogy that may help you appreciate the difference is that if the Freewheeler were a sports car, the Tri Glide® Ultra would be a luxury car. It comes with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, additional amenities, more robust passenger seating, the option for more storage and so forth.

The Freewheeler is the most affordable option and much more of a stripped-down experience. The Tri Glide® Ultra provides a more luxury experience and adds features that you can’t get on the Freewheeler, such as an infotainment system. The CVO Tri Glide® is essentially a custom Tri Glide® Ultra that comes that way direct from the factory.
Updates for the 2022 Model Year
All of the Harley-Davidson® trikes, including the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide® Ultra, have received a light exterior refresh along with new color options. The other main change is that electronic linked braking with ABS is now standard. In addition, some of the rider safety enhancements that had previously been optional are now included in the standard package.
Riding Characteristics
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide® Ultra available at our H-D® dealership serving Brandon Tampa Lakeland Wesley Chapel and beyond delivers a three-wheel touring experience. Characteristics include a fork-mounted fairing, an upright riding position, a passenger seat with a backrest, floorboards for both the rider and passenger and an infotainment system. Fundamental differences between this trike and the Freewheeler are that the seat here is higher, and there is a bit less ground clearance.
Performance
This trike comes standard with the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine. This is the most displacement available in standard H-D® touring models, and it provides ample acceleration for hitting an onramp or passing other vehicles on the highway. Upgrade stage kits are available.
Infotainment
The Tri Glide® Ultra comes standard with the Boom!™ Box GTS infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touch screen featuring Gorilla Glass. It boasts all of the advanced features riders expect from a modern infotainment system, including navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and voice control via your smartphone. In addition to touch screen and voice, the system can be controlled via joysticks.
Rider Safety Enhancements
As mentioned earlier, electronic linked braking with an anti-lock braking system is the new addition for 2022. Some of the safety enhancements that were optional but are now included standard are traction control and drag-torque control along with cornering enhanced versions of both. You can still opt for the full rider enhancement package, and that choice must be made at the time of purchase.
Customization
Harley-Davidson® also offers a wide range of parts and accessories for the Tri Glide® Ultra. Some of the popular options include various handlebars, heated and lighted grips, seats, windshield options and so forth. Many of those accessories are already available through our location or the H-D® parts store, and H-D® has many more accessories planned that will soon be available.
