Updates for the 2022 Model Year
Last model year was a big one for the Freewheeler® as this is when Harley-Davidson® modernized the model with all of the technologies and amenities that today’s enthusiast expects. While the updates are not quite as substantial for 2022, they are notable. The Freewheeler® gets a new look, including a redesigned tank medallion and two new paint schemes to pick from. Reflex linked Brembo brakes with an anti-lock braking system are now standard with the Freewheeler®. Some of the safety enhancements are standard as well, and you still have the choice of opting for the full safety enhancement package.
Riding Characteristics
If you test-ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Freewheeler® in Brandon, you’ll experience an upright riding position and a seat level that is lower than the Tri-Glide. Despite that lower seat, the Freewheeler® has a higher ground clearance. Other notable characteristics include floorboards, a passenger seat and a trunk. Performance

The front suspension features a 49-millimeter dual-bending valve fork, and the rear suspension is a hand-adjustable emulsion setup that has been calibrated specifically for the Freewheeler®.

Rider Safety Enhancements

You also have the option of adding a dynamic traction control system that kicks in when traction is less than ideal when accelerating, decelerating and cornering. Note that if you want this option, you have to select it at purchase as it is not available as an option after the fact.

Vivid Black is the standard color for the 2022 Freewheeler®. You also have two premium options to choose from—Reef Blue and Midnight Crimson with Vivid Black—and whichever color you choose, your Freewheeler® will have a chrome aesthetic. There is also a wide array of customization options available, including windshields, heated grips, various seats, engine upgrades and much more.
