About the Tri Glide® Ultra
Harley-Davidson® offers two core trikes: the Freewheeler and Tri Glide®. The difference is similar to that between a stripped-down cruiser and a luxury touring machine. The Freewheeler is set up more for driving around town and navigating your local twisties. The Tri Glide® excels in those scenarios as well but is also much better suited to riding long distances and for long stretches at a time.
About the CVO™ Tri Glide®
Custom Vehicle Operations—or CVO™—is the name Harley-Davidson® uses for its custom factory models. These are custom versions of their most popular bikes that you can order direct from the factory. While still a production model, they tend to be manufactured in more limited numbers, and while they are in essence a special and premium variant of the standard model, they tend to feature upgrades that you will not find even on the special editions. In addition, they are usually offered in several distinct flavors, and those flavors vary not just on paint scheme but equipment loadout as well.
CVO™ Tri Glide® vs. Tri Glide® Ultra
The other special edition of the Tri Glide® available is the Tri Glide® Ultra, and a common question our team serving Brandon Tampa Lakeland Wesley Chapel gets is how these two models differ. While the Tri Glide® Ultra is certainly a premium mode, the CVO™ is the most high-end version of the Tri Glide® available, and this is reflected in the MSRP. Other differences include color choices, a more powerful engine, a lower seat position, Tomahawk wheels and a premium audio system.
Updates for the 2022 Model Year
The biggest mechanical change for the 2022 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Tri Glide® is an update that was made throughout much of the lineup where applicable: Reflex electronically linked Brembo brakes with an anti-lock braking system. Another difference is RDRS. That suite was standard for 2021. Now, Harley-Davidson® has expanded the technologies and broken them up differently. Most are still standard, but there are some rider safety enhancements that are available as an option. The color choices are different, and for 2022, H-D® has opted for a single choice: Dante’s Red Fade.
Riding Characteristics
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Tri Glide® delivers a luxury three-wheel riding experience and features a fork-mounted fairing. Other characteristics are what you’d expect from a touring motorcycle, such as an upright riding position, a passenger seat with a backrest and floorboards for both the rider and passenger. An infotainment system, a touring back and a trunk are all standard as well.
Performance
The Tri Glide® Ultra comes with the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 V-Twin, which delivers an impressive 121 pound-feet of torque. One of the most exciting aspects of the 2022 Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Tri Glide® is that it has the Milwaukee-Eight® 117. This is currently the most powerful air-cooled engine that Harley-Davidson® offers, and it delivers 125 pound-feet of torque.
Infotainment
The CVO™ Tri Glide® comes standard with the Boom!™ Box infotainment system. It features a 6.5-inch touch screen made with Gorilla Glass and dual analog joysticks. It offers a wide range of features, including navigation, smartphone-based voice control, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and more.
Customization
The CVO™ Tri Glide® may be a custom and premium trike, but that does not mean there is no room for personalization. Harley-Davidson® offers many parts and accessories, and you have access to the complete catalog through our dealership.
