Tampa Bay Harley-Davidson® - Test ride the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Bob® 114 vs 2023 Harley-Davidson® Fat Bob® 114 near Brandon FL
The new Fat Bob® and Street Bob® are now available at Tampa Bay Harley-Davidson® near Brandon, and a common question we get from newer enthusiasts is how these bikes differ. If you’re not familiar with the Harley-Davidson® cruisers, you may see Bob in the name and assume that they’re closely related, but that isn’t the case at all. Bob refers to bobber, which is a type of cruiser with bobbed fenders. The 114 in their names indicates the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine, but this is where the similarities end.
As with all modern H-D® cruisers, the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Bob® 114 is based on the Softail platform, and it’s a popular alternative to the Softail Standard because it has the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine rather than the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 engine and also due to the classic bobber aesthetic that many people love. The goal with this model is to deliver more exhilarating performance without compromising the classic cruiser experience, which is comfortable and relaxed.
The biggest difference when comparing the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Street Bob® 114 vs 2023 Harley-Davidson® Fat Bob® 114 is that it’s designed with performance in mind first and foremost. While the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Fat Bob® 114 is based on the Softail platform like the Street Bob®, it is the biggest departure from that base platform in the Cruiser family. It also has forward foot control as opposed to mid controls on the Street Bob® and a custom exhaust, and the “fat” in the Fat Bob® name is in reference to the wider front tire that is a defining characteristic of this model. Also serving Lakeland and Bradenton Florida.
